Blade: 7" single edged blade of differentially hardened 1075 high carbon steel. 4mm thick for a light and fast blade with an asymmetric swage and fileworked heel. The blade has ben polished and etched to bring out the differential hardening of the steel and honed to a very fine edge. Handle: The mortised Maccassar Ebony handle has been hand carved with two raised panels of Celtic knotwork set with polished steel pins. It is secured by a larger steel pin just below the pommel. Mounts: The complex guard assembly consists of an oil blued and sculpted wrought iron bolster and mild steel guard framed by alternating spacers of oil blued mild steel and polished nickel silver. The domed pommel is of oil blued mild steel set with hand carved Mammoth Ivory inserts Sheath: The blade is housed in a scabbard of laminated millboard covered in thin deerskin leather with a forged steel chape with a sculpted bog oak tip secured with a steel pin, and a turned steel Sam Browne stud mounted on a sculpted nickel silver face plate.
